DOZ (“we”, “us”, or “the Platform”) is a digital marketplace and classifieds platform operated in Kurdistan and Iraq. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information you provide directly
- Account details — first name, last name, username, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash).
- Profile information — optional avatar and language preference.
- Listings — content you publish as a shop, service, job, factory, or vehicle listing, including images you upload.
- Orders — recipient name, phone number, delivery city and address, and order items when you buy through the marketplace.
- Messages — content of conversations you exchange with shops through the platform.
- Support messages — the subject and body of messages you send to our team.
Information collected automatically
- Authentication data — session tokens and account ID stored in your browser’s local storage.
- Cart and favorites — items you save locally on your device.
- Technical logs — IP address, browser type, and request timestamps collected by our servers for security and rate-limiting.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account.
- To display your listings, shops, and profile details to other users where relevant.
- To process orders and connect buyers with sellers, including by forwarding delivery details to the seller who fulfills the order.
- To send verification codes, password reset links, and essential account notifications.
- To send our newsletter — only if you have explicitly subscribed, and always with a one-click unsubscribe.
- To detect abuse, prevent fraud, and enforce rate limits on sensitive endpoints.

5. When we share information
- Between buyers and sellers — when you place an order or message a shop, the shop owner receives the information needed to fulfill your order or respond to you.
- Public content — listings, shop pages, and reviews you publish are visible to anyone using DOZ.
- Service providers — we use a transactional email provider to deliver verification and password-reset emails. These providers only receive the information needed to send those messages.
- Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority.
6. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Verification tokens and expired reset links are automatically cleaned up. When you delete your account, your profile and personal content are removed, but anonymized records required for order history or legal purposes may be retained.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Update your name, email, and phone from your profile.
- Request deletion of your account.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

8. Security
We protect your data using HTTPS in transit, bcrypt-hashed passwords, short-lived verification tokens, progressive rate limiting on login, and strict access controls on administrative endpoints. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.
9. Cookies and local storage
DOZ does not use advertising cookies. We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart, saved favorites, and theme preference. You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings.
10. Children
DOZ is not intended for users under the age of 13. If we become aware that a child has created an account, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of DOZ after changes constitutes acceptance.
